One of the joys of trophy hunting is that there are tons of games out there that are not only good for trophies but also worth your time. However, buying games without a clear idea of which ones might have a good trophy list versus ones that expect a major time sink can be a bit of a gamble. To help with that, we have compiled this list of PS5 titles that we think are great games and have easy trophies, so you’ll enjoy that journey to platinum.

Dead Island 2 was a game lost in development hell for over a decade, so it was a surprise when it came out and was as good as it was. You play as one of six characters who survive a plane crash while trying to leave L.A. (Hell-A) and escape the outbreak. In the scuffle, they learn they are bitten and are immune, which leads down a path they never expected.

Atomfall is a game full of surprises. It’s part of what makes the RPG stand out from its peers. On its default setting, there are no waypoints or objective markers to guide you. You can venture off into Slattendale, find a note that points you in a vague direction and fall down an hours-long rabbit hole following a lead to a story’s end and a nice little reward. What I didn’t expect, was a surprise that hit incredibly close to home for me specifically.

In the opening hours of Atomfall, you’ll likely find yourself in Wyndham Village. It’s a quaint little place, typical of the UK’s Lake District. Stone walls, traditional pubs, a village green, and a dramatic backdrop comprised of towering mountains and tranquil lakes. Busy following a note that led me to the boathouse by the edge of the water, I overheard some NPCs conversing. And that’s when it happened.

Like with previous entries in the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has a ton of side content to sink your teeth into. When you first start in the game, you might struggle to figure out where to start. Play Through the Tutorial

After a bit of a wait, a new trailer in March finally gave us the release date for Death Stranding 2. As cryptic and unusual trailers are a staple of the series, that got us thinking about how it compared to previous trailers. We did some investigative work to figure out where the game’s main trailers stack up as far as being entirely confusing and strange.

9. 2019 Release Date Trailer (DS1)

The trailer that revealed the release date kind of felt like the end of some of the weirdness, and instead, it leveled with viewers. Rather than offer a bunch of story bits that feel like a jumbled-up jigsaw puzzle, you get an actual stream of story information. You also get a sense of the threats in that it shows the BTs and actual combat with yellow-suit thugs.

On the surface, Wanderstop looks like your typical cozy cafe management game with a cute story running through it, but I soon found out it was far more than that. This is a journey of accepting change, listening to the wisdom of others, and taking a moment for yourself.

Wanderstop is a narrative-driven game by Ivy Road that follows Alta as she helps Boro run a tea shop in the middle of a mysterious forest. There’s much of what you would expect from a cozy game: colorful plants, adorable creatures, and eccentric customers in desperate need of a cup of tea. After a while, however, it becomes clear that you are there to experience more than just serving tea.

My 90 minutes exploring the Lake District (oft referred to as ‘The Lakes’ in the north of England) was filled with death. Not of my enemies, but me. I died at the hands of a gang of Druids, by falling down a steep ledge, being burned to a crisp by a big robot guarding an underground facility, ingesting too many toxic fumes, disturbing a mutant, and unknowingly triggering a tripwire. This isn’t the Lake District I spent my childhood years exploring, but it’s just as visually impressive and intriguing to explore.

Set in a quarantine zone in 1960s northern England, Atomfall puts you in the shoes of a nuclear disaster survivor. You don’t know who you are, or what caused the disaster, but five years following the event, you know you need to find your way out of the quarantine zone to safety.

In the current landscape of the games industry, where publishers are increasingly looking to do more of the same, only investing in the safe bets of big ongoing franchises to offset high development costs, it’s going to take a cunning mix of innovative gameplay with new and interesting ideas in storytelling to keep the single-player market growing and not just surviving.

Enter Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 developer, Sandfall Interactive—a French studio led by ex-Ubisoft developers dedicated to crafting exactly those single-player stories since their founding in 2020.

To explore this further, we’ve taken a look at 10 games that may actually be launch titles for the Switch 2.

A few clarifications here: when discussing the ‘launch window’ we’re looking at the first six months of the Switch 2 being on sale. We’re also not claiming that all 10 of these games would be released in the first six months. Instead, it’d be more likely that some of these release in the first six months, and some could be released a little later on depending on what stage they’re at in the development cycle.

There’s just something about this skin that’s completely unnerving. It might be the three sets of eyes or the creepy legs, but I just don’t like it. This is one of the last things I would want running at me when night falls over the Fortnite map. I know it’s not technically ‘ugly’ compared to some of the other things on this list, but as a baseline, I just don’t like the look of it.

Sims players invest a lot of time in the lives of their characters, sometimes creating whole generations of Sim families. Now, with the Sims 4 Life & Death expansion pack, players won’t have to worry about losing a character to a house fire or an accidental drowning.

Announced during the Nintendo Direct presentation on 18th June 2024, Super Mario Party Jamboree is the third installment of the Mario Party franchise specifically made for Nintendo Switch. With the tried-and-tested Mario Party boards back on the block but with gameplay favoring that of Superstars, I was interested to see if what was new was, in fact, new enough.

First of all, the boards. It was a pleasant surprise to see how vast the boards were compared to their Super Mario Party counterparts. While this gives a lot of replay value, a ten-turn round averaging out at around ninety minutes, I can see younger players or those more used to quick playthroughs getting bored or frustrated by the time it takes to get around the board even once. However, the tiny boards of Super Mario Party are a thing of the past. With new dice, board-specific items, and different ways to keep opponents from getting the sacred Stars before you do, there is a lot to discover if you have the time to dedicate to it. Players can even go all the way up to thirty turns if they want a longer game experience, and the ability to save offline games is always helpful.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Infinite Wealth puts players back in the shoes of Ichiban Kasuga as he attempts to help the ex-Yakuza after the previous game’s events. Though he must detour on that path, a new journey takes him (and the series) to America for the first time. He must now navigate the culture of Hawaii to unravel a whole new conspiracy.

When it was first revealed, The First Berserker: Khazan gave the impression that it is yet another Soulslike title, albeit one with a more stylized approach that helped it stand out. Dig deeper, however, and it is clear that Nexon and Neople’s new game has way more than that to offer, especially for fans of the extensive DNF universe.

The source material, which places the titular Khazan as a legendary hero who gets betrayed by Pell Los Empire after defeating Hismar the Berserk Dragon and is the origin of the Khazan Syndrome, and thus, the Slayer faction, is rich and storied. Yet, what the team hopes to achieve with The First Berserker: Khazan is to both invite new players into the DNF world and to satisfy veterans in one fell swoop. That required a deft touch and a splash of multiverse storytelling.

When it comes to realizing the ultimate power fantasy, nothing quite comes close to the 1v1,000 combat that the Dynasty Warriors series delivers. Take your pick of a general, get onto the battlefield, and eliminate all that stand in your way – it’s always a satisfying ride. However, the series has undergone some recent changes, and going into a hands-on session of Dynasty Warriors: Origins at Tokyo Game Show 2024, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect.

What Omega Force and Koei Tecmo have put together is a refreshed formula that retains that classic feel of the series, but infused with new but meaningful changes to help enhance your enjoyment on the battlefield. As part of the demo, it was time to take on the Battle of Sishui Gate against the forces of Dong Zhuo, and taking down his leading generals, Li Jue and Hua Xiong, meaning I was in for a tough fight.
